National Cadet Corps (NCC)
The National Cadet Corps (Air wing) of our Institution, affiliated to the 1 (TN) Air Squadron NCC, Tambaram, is a part of the Personality Development Programme. The allotted strength for NCC is 50. Cadets (Boys and Girls) are enrolled into the NCC programme every year. These NCC cadets should compulsorily attend a 10 days camp in an academic year apart from other special camps viz., National Integration Camp, Vayu Sainik Camp, Air Force Attachment Camp etc., The cadets are given rigorous physical training which includes March Past, Range Firing, Skeet Shooting, Microlite Flying, Parasailing and so on.
The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. Needless to say, the NCC also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed forces

National Service Scheme (NSS)
National Service Scheme popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Mahatma Gandhi Centenary year 1969 and aimed at developing student's per2sonality through community service. The overall objective of National Service is educational. This objective is attained through the service to the community.
NSS is a permanent youth Programme under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and funded by Government of Tamilnadu and Government of India in the ratio 5:7

Youth Red Cross
Youths of our country represent a substantial part of the membership of Red Cross for its humanitarian commitment. Young volunteers can make a significant contribution to meeting the needs of the most vulnerable people within their local communities through Red Cross youth programme. This has been designed to involve young people as much as possible in the movement and its activities not only as workers and also as beneficiaries, but as partners in management the programme focuses on the following areas:

Promote life and health through training and education on safety, primary health care and healthy living,. Through training and education.

Disseminate the seven fundamental principles of Red Cross through activities that encourage the Red Cross ideals.

Promote international friendship with activities that cultivate a humanitarian spirit.

Technical support in the development of youth programmes, fund-raising, identification of material an human resources.

The YRC @ HITS aims to have young people recognized by Societies leadership as equal partners who address the needs of the most vulnerable.
